Writers for Readers Mitch Albom
Bestseller Nora Roberts, who writes as J.D. Robb for her ever popular In Death Series, started her career when a blizzard in February 1979 forced her hand to try and find another creative outlet. Born into a family of readers, Nora had never known a time that she wasn’t reading or making up stories. During the now-famous blizzard, she pulled out a pencil and notebook and began to write down one of those stories.
Mitch Albom earned a bachelor’s degree in 1979 at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, majoring in sociology, but stayed true to his dream of a life in music. In his early 20’s, while living in New York, he took an interest in journalism and volunteered to work for a local weekly paper, the Queens Tribune. He eventually returned to graduate school, earning a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of
Journalism and is now an internationally renowned and best-selling author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television broadcaster and musician. His books have collectively sold more than 35 million copies worldwide; have been published in forty-nine territories and in forty-five languages around the world; and have been made into Emmy Award-winning and critically-acclaimed television movies.
On why he writes about death: I like to say that I don’t write about death, I write about life. Death just gets your attention.

The new Sunday Times bestselling novel A Good Catch from Fern Britton tells us the story of beautiful Greer Clovelly who is in love and determined to wed Jesse Behenna. After all, a marriage between them would join together two dynasties of Cornish fishing families to make a very prosperous one. For her friend, Loveday Carter – plump, freckled and unpretentious – living in Greer’s shadow has become a way of life. Loveday adores Jesse too, even though his best friend Mickey is in love with her; but she knows that what Greer wants, she usually gets.
Trust, is a laugh-out-loud novel of romance written by Mike Bullen, the creator of the generation- defining TV series Cold Feet. Greg and Amanda are happy. They’ve been together thirteen years, have two young daughters, and are very much in love. But Dan and Sarah aren’t so fortunate. Their marriage is just going through the motions, and they’re staying together for the sake of their son. When one bad decision sends a happy couple into turmoil and turns an unhappy couple into love’s young dream, there’s only one thing that can keep everything from falling apart: trust.
