Gail Honeyman see page 3 Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine
Gail Honeyman, from Glasgow, always struggled to find the time to write because of her full-time job. She'd thought of writing a novel for years but it was her impending 40th birthday that prompted her to start. While Gail was still working on her novel, it was shortlisted for the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize as a work in progress, BBC Radio 4's Opening Lines and the Bridport Prize, and was awarded the Scottish Book Trust's Next Chapter Award. It has also been chosen as one of the Observer's Debuts of the Year for 2017.
It has also been announced that the Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon's production company have bought the rights to take Eleanor to the big screen.
“Beautifully written and incredibly funny, Eleanor Oliphant by Gail Honeyman is about the importance of friendship and human connection. I fell in love with Eleanor, an eccentric and regimented loner whose life beautifully unfolds after a chance encounter with a stranger; I think you will fall in love too!” REESE WITHERSPOON
